Better pay is not the only way to keep employees. Employers need to be more creative and proactive in retaining talent. On the other hand, employees who like their jobs, but feel they deserve more compensation need to give their current employer the chance to keep them. Based on this study, that still might not be enough. Raises that are negotiated with current employer tend not to be as large as the starting salary with a new company. However, many variables need to be considered before you change jobs. Having realistic goals and a pre-determined evaluation structure are the keys to making that decision.
